MY TALENTS

Artsy
I have huge passion in art ever since I was little back in Australia. Hence, I joined a drawing competition for the Royal Adelaide Show. Furthermore, back in high school, I was an art stream student; therefore, besides taking accounts and business, the other subject that I had to take was art. When I entered art stream, I knew my drawing and water coloring skills needed to be polished as I have not done art for so long. When I took art stream, it benefits my skills in art a lot as I fulfilled my time with schoolwork related to art. The art teacher taught us the correct techniques for drawing and coloring using different types of tools. After many extra art classes, private tuition and joining art workshops, by end of form 5, I have mastered most of the techniques. I have received an award for a few of my artworks that I have done. My major one was for my SPM whereby I got an A+ for arts.

Graphic Design
I’ve had interest in design in general, but I never thought that I had talent in graphic design specifically. So, my journey in graphic design started in form 4 when I applied for the school’s graphic team under the editorial board. I passed the interview whereby I was given a task to design the school’s magazine cover and I got the spot. From there I started to learn how to use photoshop and surprisingly I manage to learn it within a few hours. Thus, in the graphic team, I helped in designing few parts of the 2018 school magazine. Moving on to the next year, I got elected to be the head of the school’s graphic team. I was shocked that my ‘try an error’ application got to the point where I had to lead the team. Therefore, the whole concept, design and division of work for the members of graphic design had to be dealt by me. Other than that, I not only get to design for the school, I also got elected to be the Assistant Editor for Interact Club whereby I must design for big charity events. Furthermore, my graphic design journey went internationally as I got chosen to be in the design team for an international program called ‘SAEYLS’. I had no regrets trying out new things as it benefits me in many ways. For instance, I could also apply my designing skills in university and career life too.

Dancing
Dancing has been the biggest part of my life. Dancing was in me ever since I was in kindergarten. I performed a lot on stage when I was small till now. Since I was in an all-girls high school, I got the chance to freely express my passion in dancing with my friends. I have a dance group consisting of 4 girls included me that always performs for small school events. The biggest and last performance from us was the graduation performance. Besides, I was elected to lead my sports house aerobics team for sports day. SMK (P) Sri Aman provides a space with huge mirrors for dance practices; therefore, we made use of the space for our weekly dance practices either for a school performance or just for fun. I enjoy dancing with my group as they are all very easy going. I can dance to various types of dances such as traditional, modern, K-pop and hip hop. Dancing not only is my way of releasing stress, but it helps in other aspects such as my memorizing skills when I have to memories the steps and also to keep my body fit.
