I started off my first pre education in Tadikum, University Malaya. I started at the age of 5 years old. The kindergarten was a stone throw away from my house as my house was in UM. Anyways, Tadikum emphasize students to speak in English on a daily basis. Hence, kindergarten was where I first picked up my second language (English) properly. I still remember when I had to finish off reading a whole set of Peter and Jane English books that my mom bought in order to improve my basic English reading skills. Finally, I finished my kindergarten at the age of 6 years old and performed a Chinese dance for the first time!

The next stage of my education is Primary School. I entered my first primary school at SK (2) Sultan Alam Shah in 2009. I only spent half a year as a standard 1 in Malaysia because I had to move to Australia. My dad pursues his studies in PhD, therefore, we all as a family had to stay overseas for about 4 years in Adelaide, Australia. I went to several primary schools in Australia such as Pennington Junior Primary School, Pennington Primary School and finally Torrensville Primary School. It was difficult to adapt with the new surrounding despite staying overseas for the first time at such a young age. Thank god I got my basic English in hand from my kindergarten years, so I was able to apply it in Australia. Education in Australia and Malaysia are totally different, and I definitely enjoyed my 4 years of school in Aussie. Aussie schools provide swimming classes, gardening/ farming classes, every class owns a pet that we had to take care of such as chicks, lizards and hamsters, they have a huge playground with sandpits outdoor, they provide tabs and laptops for learning purposes and the classrooms are all air conditioned. Fun fact, after my dad finished his PhD and we had to move back to Malaysia, Torrensville Primary School put up a few pictures of the students in the school that included me in it. It was the most fun and memorable years and I am lucky to be given a chance to experience such things. Finally, I went back to Malaysia at the end of 2012 and finished off my primary years back in SK (2) Sultan Alam Shah. I graduated with results of 7A’s for UPKK and 4A’s 1B for my UPSR.

Secondary School, I stayed in one school throughout those 5 years. After getting my UPSR results, I applied to various secondary schools. I got the offer to go to an all-girls high-performance school, SMK (P) Sri Aman in Petaling Jaya. High School was an exciting roller coaster. Sri Aman uses English as their medium of communication on a daily basis. High School was the place where I change from being an introvert to an extrovert. Since it was and all girls school, I was free to express myself without being judged. The spirit of togetherness and bond between Sri Aman girls were super powerful, I don’t think I can find it anywhere else. Anyways, I got 7A’s for my PT3 examination. Form 4 and 5 I took art stream and was the busiest as I was the head for so many clubs and school program whether in the school itself or internationally. Alhamdulillah, despite all the chaos and breakdowns I had to go through in 2019, I managed to get straight A’s (9A’s) for my SPM results. No one expected it at all.

After passing SPM with flying colours, I applied for Asasi TESL in UiTM Dengkil as my first choice as I want to major in a career that emphasis on the English language. Alhamdulillah, I passed the interview and I got the course that I wanted. Now, I am almost finishing my 1’s semester in Foundation TESL, another semester to go and I’ll be on my way to apply for degree next!
